Camp K'ton ton

Camp K’ton ton is a summer day camp for preschool children ages 14 months-four years old. This camp is an extension of our excellent DHS Licensed Three Star Rated Program that provides excellent care and instruction for children from August to May each year.

During the summer, the pace turns leisurely and campers spend much of their time outdoors exploring nature, swimming and playing on the playground. The fun and learning continues with a healthy dose of sunshine and fresh air.

Sessions allow families the flexibility to choose “time off” for summer vacations.  Please remember to sign your child up for at least two consecutive one-week sessions. We also offer three, four or five day options in all classrooms.

Camp Staff

Counselors are selected on the basis of their qualifications and experience. Each staff member is screened through a series of personal interviews and references and background checks to ensure his or her suitability to work in the preschool camp.

Staff members are experienced child care providers who meet all requirements set forth by the Department of Human Services. All staff members complete an intensive orientation and training process which includes water safety training as well as instruction on developmentally appropriate child/staff interactions by a social service professional. All staff are Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid and life guards have Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

Swim lessons are taught by certified Water Safety Instructors.

Come visit our facility and meet our staff members, and you’ll instantly know that we provide a warm, engaging and exciting environment for all the children who pass through our doors.

Registration Requirements

1. Consult the Camp director for space availability PRIOR to registering your child.

2. Children attending AJCC Preschool will be given the opportunity to priority register for camp from January 12 to February 2.  Registration for all other children will begin February 2 on a first come, first serve basis.

3. Young children require stability and time to adjust to new routines in order to have a positive summer camp experience. To provide for our children’s developmental needs, Camp K'ton ton campers must attend at least two consecutive weeks each time they attend camp.
