The 2010 KJA Annual Campaign -
KJA builds Jewish life in Knoxville while saving Jewish lives in Israel, Europe and around the world. In Knoxville, with the exception of prayer, life cycle events, and formal Jewish education, the KJA tries to be all things to all Jews. We either deliver the program or fund others who can do it better (BBYO, Hadassah, UT Judaic Studies, etc.).
We take the responsibility of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) very seriously and meet our obligations to Jews abroad through our partners at Jewish Federations of North America (formerly UJC), the American Joint Distribution Committee(JDC) and the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI). Furthermore, we fund a long list of other significant organizations and projects whose ideals and goals are consistent with ours. A gift to the KJA campaign is the most effective way to meet both our personal and community goals for Tzedakah.
--- Stephen Rosen, President of the KJA Board of Directors

2008 KJA ANNUAL CAMPAIGN -$400,005 collected
Jewish Federation of North America's (formerly UJC) annual campaign is the engine that drives the work of the federation system. The 155 federations [like the Knoxville Jewish Alliance] across North America raise more than $1 billion each year to address urgent needs in local communities, in Israel and in 60 countries.

The Jewish Federations support the ORT de Gunzburg High School in St. Petersburg -- the only school in Russia to be chosen by Microsoft as a ‘Pathfinder School’. Thirty Pathfinder Schools were selected this year to spearhead the expansion of Microsoft's Partners in Learning network, which helps schools use technology more effectively. As a Pathfinder School, ORT de Gunzburg received thousands of dollars-worth of Microsoft software. Click here to learn more.
