Dear KJA Members and Friends,
Our current operating status (updated 5-29-2020) is as follows:
  • The AJCC Pool will open on Monday, June 15, 2020. Hours for our general membership will be Monday through Friday 4 pm to 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm.  Pool capacity will be capped at 45 members/guests. Members will be asked to bring their own chairs. Masks should be worn on the pool deck, but not in the pool. Water will be available for purchase but there will not be a snack bar this year. Members will be allowed to bring snacks or drinks for their personal consumption. No glass will be allowed inside the pool area. The summer membership fee will be $225.
  • Regrettably, the University Swim Club Smokin’ Salmon will not meet this year. BUT we are working on plans for a fun league and will announce details soon.
  • The AJCC Preschool opened for the summer on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Class sizes are limited, following CDC guidelines. Preschool will run from 9 am to 3 pm with no before or after care. At this time there are limited available registrations.
  • Milton Collins Day Camp will begin on Monday, June 15, 2020. We are unable to offer field trips, overnights, or late nights this year. The camp will run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Please note that no additional extended care, including pool release, will be provided. At this time there is a limit of available registrations. Staff and campers will be expected to wear masks. Families may provide their own or wear masks that volunteers have donated. Daily health screening will be conducted for all staff and campers. There will be no specialty camps, but there will be great activities, swimming and fun!
  • At this time the AJCC building remains closed to everyone except staff and preschool (and MCDC once it opens), BUT the office remains open to email and phone calls. Please let us know how we can assist you. If you are in need of assistance please contact Jewish Family Services director Laura Berry at lberry@jewishknoxville.org. Ed Hunter remains available for billing-related questions at ehunter@jewishknoxville.org. Ed and Laura are working hard to return all emails and phone calls. There are currently no meetings, classes, or rentals at the AJCC.
