Archives of the Jewish Community of Knoxville and East Tennessee
Preserving the stories and records of the history of our Knoxville and East Tennessee Jewish community has been an ongoing effort supported by the KJA since the 1980's. Our Archives, located at the AJCC, is a surprisingly rich collection of documents, photographs, original interviews, and artifacts that tell our fascinating story. Whether you are a native East Tennessean or new to the area, looking to fill out your family tree, or just want to see what the Jewish community on Gay Street looked like decades ago, there is much to explore. Archives committee co-chair Mary Ann Merrell will give an exciting overview of our important Archives, services it offers, and how to contribute your history to enrich our collection.
