Wednesday, September 18: An Opera Performance by Baritone Maurice Hendricks
Known for his wide range, depth of character and long locks, baritone Maurice Hendricks is an accomplished performer with a wide range of artistic experience. He holds a B. A. in music from Carson-Newman College where he studied voice under Dr. Angela Holder, and has done graduate work towards a M. M. in Vocal Performance at Converse College where he studied voice with Rebecca Turner. Maurice is a member of Delta Omicron International Music Fraternity and was a recipient of the Encouragement Award given by the Metropolitan Opera's National Council Auditions in South Carolina’s District in 2012. He has performed various opera/operetta roles with Marble City Opera, Spartanburg Repertory Company, GLOW Lyric Theater, Converse Opera Theatre as well as musical theatre roles with Carson-Newman Theatre and Carson-Newman Lyric Theatre. He has also been fortunate to have many soloist opportunities as a featured performer with Marble City Opera's Chocolate and Wine, The Ooh Ooh Revue, the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and various church organizations throughout Tennessee and the South East. He is passionate about bringing more awareness to the artistry and spirit of Russian Opera, and has plans to bring more operatic opportunities to East Tennessee. Maurice will be accompanied by Brandon Coffer.

The luncheon begins at noon and the program begins at 1:00 PM. Lunch is $8. There is no cost for attending the program alone. Transportation is available upon request—please have your ride requests in by the Monday morning before the program.
