Please join us for this month’s Friendshippers program.  The Friendshippers group gets together once a month for lunch and entertainment.  Friendshippers is open to all—we don’t check IDs at the door!

 

Thursday, October 20: A clarinet recital by David Floyd

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MONTH’S PROGRAM IS ON A THURSDAY INSTEAD OF OUR USUAL WEDNESDAY

David graduated from Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tennessee in spring 2013. He is an advocate for new music and has performed live premieres of music by Sid Richardson and Joo Won Park, as well as numerous performances of music by his peers in the music theory/composition program at UT. In January, 2015, he won the Grand Prize in the River City Winter Clarinet Festival and performed in a masterclass with Dr. Scott Wright from the University of Kentucky. He is a junior at the University of Tennessee, pursuing a BM in both Clarinet Performance and Music Theory, where he performs in the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Electroacoustic Ensemble, and Contemporary Music Ensemble. David is the son of Laura and Frank Floyd (and brother to Elizabeth!).
